The Villain of flowers

Commissioned by NIDA and set in country Victoria, this rock musical tells the story of a young man who returns home to investigate the murder of his mother, many years before. It explores themes of xenophobia, denial and forgiveness. It features a Greek chorus of singers. It requires a five-piece rock band and a strong male lead.

NATHANIEL STORM

This musical was commissioned for NIDA and was performed during the Olympic Festival of the Dreaming in 2000. It requires involvement of First Nations actors and a First Nations creative team. It tells the story of a young First Nations man who has returned to his community, and a white woman determined to build a hospital on sacred land.

Set in 1920, it follows the adventures of Harry Price, paranormal investigator, who finally comes across a real ghost and must confront his own demons to save the day. The show features strong female roles and a cast of six which could be expanded.

An educated Indonesian man flirts with a young Australian girl on a Bali beach. A policemen recounts the horror of a terrorist bombing, a muslim woman rages at late night television and two drug traffickers have second thoughts in a cheap hotel room. Set on the eve of the Bali Bombings - each of these stories and many more are interwoven through-out the play, creating a tapestry of modern Australia, culminating in the event that shook the nation.
